Anticipation

Well, there's nothing left to do but to wait. It's been about a week, and I hear the average query wait time is one to three weeks. I can't stand it, but such is life.

This is a critical juncture for me. Depending on the response I get, I may or may not persue novel writing in the future. Now now, don't get all uppity - I know that rejection is par for the course in the literary world. I'm not saying if I get a 'no' I'm finished. No, not hardly. I'd only consider calling it quits if I get a 'No, please, please, don't ever write again. You're horrible, you made me cry, and my eyes are now bleeding.'. Anything other than that I would consider an encouragement.

One person's garbage is another's treasure. This may sound pessimistic, but I would rather call it realistic. It's absurd to think that one person, who never put forth any piece of writing other than assignments in high school or college, would get a deal with a literary agent for his first novel, and with the first agent he tried! But if it happens, meh, what are you going to do? Say no?
